I don't know if the blood varies from person to person like regular human blood does. If you were hurt again, it would be helpful to know whether or not you could receive Nightblood from Lexa or Clarke.

Considering you almost needed one when last we met, that's my top priority.

I'm afraid that since it's not something you were born with, the properties of it can change depending on the person--what pathogens you were exposed to, the electrolyte balance, how your body processes the cells themselves, etc.

John, do you not want me to look at your blood? You need only to say so.

[Julian knows there's some touchiness around the Nightblood, particularly from Lexa's angle and the cultural significance. He doesn't want to press too hard, even if he thinks it would be very helpful if Murphy were to need it in the future.]

I've discussed it with her. You're free to verify with her yourself before you give an answer.

Correct, I would just need a sample of blood.

[Julian senses a story behind this hesitation.]

Do you mean putting it into other people without Nightblood? No, that is not my intent. It's strictly for medical purposes.

[And a new intellectual challenge. It's hard staying mentally engaged when you're genetically modified to process at speeds rivalling a supercomputer.]

It won't be for a while. Until I can get access to laboratory equipment.

I think it will. Should anything happen to you like what happened this past time, at least I would be prepared with that amount of blood loss.
